George Giacobbe Obituary life has been an entire of significant moves and accomplishments. Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, he spent his early years in Pittsburgh before graduating from University High School in Carmel, IN.
Seeking to broaden his horizons, George obtained his undergraduate degree from Butler University. However, George was just getting started. Not satisfied with his first degree, he received his Bachelors in Nursing from New York University.
George Giacobbe spent a significant period working at New York-Presbyterian Cornell in Oncology. However, George found his true calling in the Emergency Department, where his ability to perform in a fast-paced environment allowed him to excel.
Eventually, George decided to make another significant move and hopped on a plane to LA, where he could continue his great work in a new environment. George was thrilled to embark on his West Coast career at Cedars Sinai Hospital in their ED.
It didn’t take long for him to fall in love with the fast-paced and unpredictable environment of Emergency Medicine. Always a learner, George quickly became restless and requested to be trained in the ICU. After enough persistence, his managers relented, and he thrived in this new setting.
A gifted nurse with an insatiable appetite for knowledge, George also pursued a Nurse Practitioner degree at UCLA in acute care. With his fearless demeanor, George fearlessly saved countless lives, leaving a lasting impact on his colleagues on both coasts. No wonder he is remembered as a valuable asset to any department he worked in.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of George William Giacobbe’s passing on February 29, 2020, in Metairie, Louisiana. We acknowledge the emotional pain his family and friends must be experiencing during this time of grief.
Words cannot begin to express the sorrow that is felt, but we do offer our deepest condolences to the family of Mr. Giacobbe. We want to encourage everyone to leave a sympathy message in the guestbook to show their support and help cope with losing a loved one. George William Giacobbe will be missed but never forgotten.
However, his memory lives on through his wife of many years, Mary Gail LeBlanc Giacobbe, his three children, Kelly Giacobbe Gros, Corinne Giacobbe Hufft, and Lawrence Giacobbe, as well as his granddaughters, Ella Hufft and Gracelyn Gros.
Lawrence is also survived by his siblings, Maria Giacobbe, Lee Giacobbe Facenda, Terri Giacobbe, and Joseph Giacobbe, along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and cherished friends who will miss him dearly. Though he may be gone, Lawrence will always be remembered for the love he bestowed upon those closest to him.

George was a person who wholeheartedly embraced all that life had to offer. His passion for family, friends, fun, and adventure knew no bounds and brought immeasurable joy into his life. His family knew that whenever his picture flashed on their iPhone, it was time to laugh.
George was gifted with a quick wit that could make anyone giggle at a moment’s notice. He loved indulging in a little bit of gossip, hiking through the great outdoors, exploring new corners of the world, admiring modern art (especially at the MOMA), and spending time with his dear friends who felt like family to him.
His loved ones often reminisce about his kind and welcoming nature and how he had a unique talent for making everyone feel seen and loved. George’s absence has undoubtedly left a deep hole in the hearts of those who knew him, and his infectious laugh and brilliant mind will be missed always.
